What's new: variationImages, dimensionSymbol, and metadata

Supported regions: NA, EU, FE

The Product Search API searchProducts, productsRequest, and getProductsByAsins operations now support additional attributes for variation image data and color code metadata. With these attributes, you can retrieve and display images for specific product variations, such as color options, and access associated color code metadata to build richer product detail pages in your application.

  • variationImages: An attribute in ProductsResult that returns images associated with product variations, organized by dimension (typically color). Each entry contains a dimensionSymbol identifier and an array of variation images with thumbnail and large image URLs.
  • dimensionSymbol: An attribute in both the Dimension and VariationImageDimension schemas that provides the symbolic identifier for a dimension (for example, color_name, size_name). This attribute serves as the linking key between productVariations and variationImages.
  • metadata: An attribute in DimensionValue that provides optional metadata for dimension values, such as color code information. The metadata contains a colorCode object with a primary attribute representing the hex color value (for example, #F231212).

variationImages is not returned by default. To retrieve variation images in the response, you must explicitly include variationImages in the inclusionsForProducts query parameter. The metadata and dimensionSymbol attributes are returned as part of productVariationswhen included in the response.

What’s new: Onboarding overview process

Supported regions: NA, EU, FE

The Amazon Business API onboarding process now requires you to receive approval from the Amazon Business team before you register as a developer.

To request access, send an email to [email protected] with your details and intended use case. The Amazon Business team reviews your request to determine the appropriate API access and contacts you if they require additional information to proceed.

After the Amazon Business team approves your request, you receive registration instructions over email. The Amazon Business team now assigns Amazon Business API roles after they review your access request. For more information, see Onboarding overview.

What's new: Updated static sandbox responses

Supported regions: NA, EU, FE

The Reporting API static sandbox responses now return date fields as flat strings (for example, "orderDate": "2025-04-11T00:00:00Z") instead of nested objects. This update affects the following operations:

  • getOrderReports
  • getOrderLineItemReports
  • getOrderReportsByPurchaseOrderNumber
  • getShipmentReports
  • getShipmentLineItemReports

For more information, see Reporting API static sandbox guide.

April 2026

What's new: DeliveryPreference attribute

Supported regions: NA, EU, FE

The Ordering API now supports the DeliveryPreference attribute in the placeOrder operation. Using this option, you can specify your customer's preferred shipping option at the order level. Amazon Business will prioritize the preferred option when possible, but may use an alternative shipping method if the preference cannot be fulfilled. The attribute accepts three values:

  • FAST_FREE : Customer prefers the fastest free shipping option.
  • CONSOLIDATED: Customer prefers multiple items consolidated in a single shipment. This option can delay the delivery.
  • EXPEDITED_PAID: Customer prefers the fastest shipping option whether it is free or paid.

To apply the shipping preference to the entire order, include the DeliveryPreference attribute in the attributes array of your order request.

What's new: Cart API is now available

Supported regions: NA, EU

The Amazon Business Cart API is now available. This API allows you to manage Amazon Business shopping carts programmatically by listing and retrieving cart details, adding, modifying, and removing items from carts, and estimating the total purchase cost of a cart before purchase, including tax and shipping charges. For more information about this API, see Cart API overview .

This API provides the following operations:

What's new: sortKey

Supported regions: NA, EU, FE

The Product Search API searchProductsRequest operation now supports the sortKey query parameter, allowing you to control the order in which search results are returned. Use this parameter to sort products by relevance, price, popularity, customer ratings, and other criteria to better match your business needs.

📘

If the sortKey parameter is not provided or contains an invalid value, the API defaults to sorting by RELEVANCE.

The API response returns the applied sortKey value, allowing you to confirm which sort order was applied to the search.

GET https://na.business-api.amazon.com/products/2020-08-26/products?keywords=laptop&pageNumber=0&locale=en_US&productRegion=US&inclusionsForProducts:ALL,isBundledAsin&sortKey=PRICE_LOW_TO_HIGH&facets=OFFERS

What's new: minPrice and maxPrice filters

Supported regions: NA, EU, FE

The Product Search API searchProductsRequest operation now supports filtering search results by price range using two new optional query parameters:

  • minPrice: Minimum price used to filter search results. When specified, only products with prices greater than or equal to this value are returned.
  • maxPrice: Maximum price used to filter search results. When specified, only products with prices less than or equal to this value are returned.

📘

Both parameters represent prices in the marketplace's default currency without decimal points. For example, to filter products between $10.00 and $50.00 in the US marketplace, you would use minPrice=10 and maxPrice=50.

The API response now includes these parameters in the API response, showing which price filters were applied to the search.

GET https://na.business-api.amazon.com/products/2020-08-26/products?keywords=laptop&pageNumber=0&locale=en_US&productRegion=US&minPrice=50&maxPrice=100&inclusionsForProducts:ALL,isBundledAsin&facets=OFFERS
